Risk Mitigation Isn't All That Important...
Until It Is.
In today's high-pressure business environment, with fewer people doing more work, we tend to focus only on what's urgent. The time-tested priority matrix and the time-tested risk matrix, when blended together, yeild clear guidance on where we should spend our time.
Unfortunately, urgency tends to be the trump card, with people spending their time on things that are urgent, but not important, rather than the important but not urgent (or high probability/low impact rather than high impact/low probability). If you are not already doing so, focus on quadrants one and two in the matrix, rather than one and three.
At Industrial Packaging, we work with our customers to prepare for the unexpected. We identify risks that have high impact. Some of the ways that we mitigate risk include:
- Pre-approval of alternate materials,
- Pre-approval of alternate packaging options
- Preventative Maintenance Programs
- Spare Parts Inventories
- Flex Space
- Flex Labor
We keep our customers as risk-free as possible by keeping the Risk away from the Reward. Let us help you to keep those risks mitigated.
About David Roberge
Part of the outstanding Industrial Packaging team. I'm lucky to hang out with some of the most knowledgeable folks in the packaging industry. I feel even luckier to be able to share our knowledge with you. I love learning about our readers and helping them grow their brand through unique, flexible package design from the birth of the product idea, through the supply chain, and to the launch and placement on the shelf or at the consumer's door.
